Suggestions that the Russians engineered the a financial meltdown are very attractive when the alternative is that greed, mostly for personal gain, was really the issue that needed to be addressed.
Secret pacts between banks and governments, disappearing funds – could be the plot lines of a thriller. The reality for everyday folk is far more mundane, struggling to pay bills, energy, housing and food. Very basic needs.
Look up Directorate K in the Russian Security Service organisation, and there will be counterparts in the rest of the world, including the USA, but for the public, financial security is a stable economy that allows them to work and in turn enjoy food, housing, health care and education.
